Our corrective exercise programs are truly unique to the individual. We are not only able to ease your pain but resolve your problem once and for all by getting to the root of your issues. Through thorough evaluation and assessment, we are able to design our corrective exercise programs specific to your imbalances. Are you struggling to stop your injury cycle or fix a long-term issue that others have struggled to resolve? Our clinic is designed to help even the most complicated cases.

Phase 1: Decrease Your Pain

  • Reduce inflammation
  • Pause aggravating activity.

The first and most important step is to reduce and control your pain by decreasing inflammation and pausing any activity producing pain. We have several conservative options depending on your issues that are quick and effective without masking your pain with drugs. A body in pain always compensates and changes your normal movement patterns. This not only makes your problem worse but significantly increases your risk of injuring another area. The philosophy of, “No pain, no gain” is absolutely false and you will find yourself constantly managing symptoms if you do to respect pain.

Phase 2: Improve Your Movement

  • Introduce pain-free movement
  • Increase active range of motion

As you feel better, we introduce pain-free movement with the goal of regaining your normal mobility. Some areas might be moving too much while other areas too little. It is vital to match the correct exercise with the underlying dysfunction. Our rehab is customized to the individual’s needs and goals.

Phase 3: Control Your Movement

  • Control yourself
  • Expand foundational stability
The first two phases have you feeling and moving better. Now, It’s time to retrain your body on how to control this newly restored range motion. Retraining your brain to operate the body it once did is often overlooked. With movement analysis and testing, we will know exactly what we need to train and how to do it. We reteach the smart brain how to operate the body with precision again. Think of it as the software programming stage of your rehab process.

Phase 4: Incorporate Functional Strength

  • Layer strength on a stable balanced pain-free range of motion
Now it’s time to layer strength and solidify your balance body. Our patients will see the magic of their hard work in this phase. When the body is in balance it will reward you with the strength you knew was there and couldn’t find. Or maybe you had no clue how strong you really are.

Phase 5: Returning to your Sport or Activity

  • Develop activity or sports specifics.
When returning to your sport or activity, it’s a great time to work on the efficiency of movement, power, and/or speed. Things like video gait analysis, sports testing, metabolic testing, strength and conditions, endurance coaching. At Active Recovery + Performance, you have so many options that we cater to your specific needs and take your health and wellness to the next level. Don’t just survive, THRIVE.
