Active Recovery + Performance

Chiropractic Therapy

Chiropractor Serving Midlothian and the Greater Richmond Area

Chiropractic adjustments or manipulations are a non-invasive, manual procedure that has been proven to reduce pain, improve range of motion, and decrease muscle tightness and hypertonicity. Our goal in performing an adjustment is to promote normal mechanics and function of the spine, extremities, and supporting soft tissues. While adjustments are the most common treatment used by a chiropractor, at Active Chiropractic it is one of many tools we utilize to resolve your condition, restore your body’s function and improve performance.

Pain-Free Movement

Pain-free movement is essential for the health of your joints. Over time, the demands of life like poor posture, sitting all day, repetitive movements, old injuries, and new injuries can all cause the joints in your body to become stiff, tight, or lack proper function. Eventually, the wear and tear causes degenerative changes like osteoarthritis, degenerative discs, and/or joints. Chiropractic manipulation targets your problematic areas to simply improve the mobility and function of a faulty joint.
We often use the analogy of a rusty hinge (joint) of a door — how would you treat this rusty hinge/joint? If you continued to use the door the same way, the hinge/joint will continue to break down. If you opened the door halfway so the hinge never moved, you provided a short-term solution but the lack of motion actually corrodes the hinge/joint even faster. For the short and long-term health of the hinge/joint, you would want to lubricate the joint, gently move it back and forth, and repeat a few times to get the rusty hinge/joint moving smoother and reducing the slow continuous breakdown.
This is where we get the “Motion is Lotion” saying in our clinic. We gently induce motion to your stiff/tight, poorly moving joints improving your quality of motion and the longevity of your joints. You will move better, feel younger and be more active.
At Active Chiropractic, we stress that you stop working around your problems and you start solving them. With soft tissue treatment, chiropractic adjustments, and corrective exercises we have a high rate of success in a short amount of time.

Chiropractic Adjustments

Adjustments are a pain-free procedure that feel relieving when performed by reducing compression or restricted motion. At Active Chiropractic our advanced assessment assure our treatments are delivered exactly where you need them and avoids any areas that would be contraindicated to an adjustment.
